Acupuncture is the method of promoting natural healing in the body by improving its overall functionality.
Your body is your temple! It is the most important thing you have. If you are not healthy, think about it, you cannot enjoy your life. From time to time, and this is just part of life, your health will be compromised by things out of our control like injury, illness, stress, and other factors that can cause the flow of Qi (pronounced “chee”), to become disrupted. The natural flow of things can become muddled up and that’s where acupuncture comes in.
Acupuncture treatments are accomplished through the insertion of tiny needles in the body at precise acupuncture points. The acupuncture points situated on meridians called qi (Ch’i) have been used in ancient Chinese medicine for centuries and are only now being introduced to the Western world in the past twenty years or so.
Natural Healing Through Acupuncture
Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal medicine is used to encourage natural healing by improving energy and reducing pain in joint and muscle areas in the affected areas of the body.
Acupuncture is a safe and effective treatment for chronic pain and is often used as an alternative to modern medications and drugs. Pain relief is felt almost immediately and quite often even surgery is averted by going to a local acupuncturist and getting regular acupuncture treatments.
Chinese herbs are an alternative and effective way of promoting healing in the body. Chinese herbal therapy has been around for centuries. What Are Acupoints?
Acupuncture points (referred to as ‘acupoints’) are places just under the skin, mapped centuries ago by the Chinese, that have a lower resistance to the passage of electricity than the surrounding skin.
Most of these acupoints are believed to be found along pathways by which this energy flows. Another name for this energy is call Qi which may be pronounced “Chee”.
Acupuncture needles are left in place for approximately 15-30 minutes at a time. After that, the acupuncturist will most likely manipulate the needles to strengthen the flow of Qi. Some of the techniques the acupuncture practitioner may use are lifting, twisting, and rotating.
